A New Year
It is officially 2022, a new year, and let us hope that the body polity will finally decide that it is necessary to hold those in power accountable by now. I am referring to Mr. Trump and his band of treasonous thugs who are still hell-bent on destroying American Democracy. One must understand that if American Democracy falls, the light for which most assume is the shining city on the hill will forever be out, and the hope of other nations to move towards Democracy will also be defeated.
Most in D.C. still do not wish to refer to the attack on the capital as a terrorist event. Many in the media still insist on referring to it as a riot or an insurrection; however, it is time to finally call it what many have been saying it was a terrorist attack. The terrorist attack was coordinated by certain members of Congress and former high-ranking officials in the United States Government. To argue that one should be alarmed is not enough. The body politic should be outraged by the slow pace of the justice department investigating those who previously held power.
My one true hope for the upcoming year is not so much political it is more about ensuring the Republic remains. When I launched Good Luck Republic, I was not expecting the Republic to be in such a dire state. I was hopeful that the new administration would restore the Republic to normalcy; however, what we have learned in the previous year is that the Republican Party has no sense of decency. Those caught in the web of Trump have no backbone, nor are they willing to break with the loser.
It is an exciting time to be alive considering the state of the Republic, the times could not be more frightful, and we mustn’t be willing to sugarcoat the truth, for if we do, it surely will be to our peril.
