"How Civil Wars Start and how to stop them" by Barbara F. Walters

Our Democracy is still heading towards a path of ruin, we can watch it die or we can decide to do something about it and that begins by opening books.

This book, at first, gave me pause. Did I want to go down a rabbit hole, but after reading the book on corruption, I decided to do just that. The text takes readers through the other nations that have experienced a civil war, and the last chapter considers steps that prevent a civil war.

As someone who has long been skeptical of the idea that technology helps people stay interconnected, this text made the case that those nations that have experienced high levels of social media users share hyperpolarization. Social Media use then poses a threat to Democracy.

The case study the author uses in Africa shows that nations with high social media use are more polarized than those that don’t use social media.

This book was a great read and a quick read.
