Joe Biden
Last night, the town hall event was the first event for President Biden, where he answered questions directly from the American people. What was clear was the humility of Joe Biden and his leadership style. Leadership style is important because what we witnessed for the previous four years was that of grievance leadership. Joe Biden shows the clear break away from that type of leadership. This was most clear when he commented that he does not want to talk about the previous administration and wants the news to remain focused on the American people.
One of the more controversial responses given by President Biden last night was on student loan forgiveness. President Biden believes that he can only write off up to 10,000 dollars of student debt, which others in his party disagree with President Biden on; Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senate Majority Leader Schumer believe that Biden can forgive up to 50,000 dollars in student debt using executive action.
President Biden promised that the American people would get the vaccine in July if they so wish. Get the shot when you can. Protect those around you, including yourself. In the meantime, continue to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Thanks to everyone who joined me last night while we held our second live blogging event. The first was the night of the Georgia runoffs. I look forward to liveblogging soon.
