Mastriano
and January 6th
Edition # 63
06/05/2022
Welcome to another edition of Good Luck Republic; Pennsylvania's Republican gubernatorial candidate is willing to sit down with the January 6th select committee; Mastriano, as many know, took buses filled with insurrections to the site that would become a crime scene. As I've argued previously, Mastriano is loved by people across the commonwealth. He can win the general election match-up against Josh Shapiro. If he were to win the general election, it would be a nightmare for William Penn's Pennsylvania.
We know that Mastriano has already sat down with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and it appears that agencies' investigation into the terrorist acts against the United States is ongoing. It may include an ongoing investigation into Mastriano since they are unwilling to comment on the investigation. One can only imagine the political fallout if Mastriano is hit with an October surprise that he is being indicted or something involving the actions of January 6.
Since Mastriano is willing to sit down with the House Select Committee investigating the terrorist actions of January 6, he definitely should sit down with the committee and provide them with all of the information they need to finish the investigation.
I am a skeptic when it comes to the prowess of the Democratic Party retaining the Governor's mansion in November. While I hope that the Keystone State remains a beacon of Democratic hope, history is not on the side of the Democratic Party. It is typically the case that when a Democrat occupies the White House, the Democratic Party in Pennsylvania takes a massive beating. That defeat usually does not end with the Democrats in the Governor's Mansion.
