Omicron
COVID is still Here
Omicron. That's the name of the latest COVID-19 variant, the best way to protect oneself from the virus which continues to infect millions around the world is by getting a vaccine. This variant has prompted several nations to institute travel restrictions, including the United States.
So far, the variant has been found in the following states, South Africa, Botswana, Hong Kong, and Belgium. The most significant concern with this variant is that it can remain unnoticeable in some cases.
Starting Monday, traveling to the United States will be restricted from the following nations from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Malawi.
The United States never exactly was able to have the virus on the run in large part because of disinformation surrounding the virus and the vaccine. Even though all of the research says the best way to protect oneself is to be vaccinated, many on the right in the United States refuse to do so for the simple they'd rather deny President Biden an economic recovery. One is reminded of the slogan from 2016 that the American Polity rejected, "Stronger Together," well, for Republicans and those who wish Democracy to fail, it was never about being stronger together. Those on the right would instead hold a gun to the American recovery than have a booming economy. Those who refuse to be vaccinated are a risk to us all. They are a risk to our shared economic recovery.
