They Chose Fear
Today the Republican Party decided that fear was right, that fear sells, only nineteen Republican members of Congress voted to say, “We have nothing to fear but fear itself,” President Franklin Delano Roosevelt uttered those words. The Republican Party decided today that they can sell fear to the vast majority of Republicans, and that is how they will somehow seek to win future elections.
The Republican party is motivated by one thing, grievance. The Republican Party is no longer a political party motivated by policy or anything of that nature but by resentment. When they add fear to grievance, they reckon it could be a winning strategy so long as you convince enough white people to vote against their own interests in support of a nation that resembles them.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is a conspiracy theorist who doesn’t believe that the September 11 terrorist attacks occurred; she doesn’t believe the Parkland school shooting happened. She has called for the execution of the Speaker of the House. She is patently unqualified to serve in Congress. I hope that the House of Representatives will take the next step to expel the congresswomen from Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.
As an American, I’d be choosing Liz Cheney over a conspiracy theorist who threatens their colleagues every day.
