We must Endure
Chaos at the Capital
I was hoping to provide more analysis of what occurred in Georgia. However, that will have to wait because of the chaos that is ongoing in Washington, D.C. In a mostly normal procedural endeavor, the Vice President oversees the electoral college votes being counted; however, this became a major flashpoint for the Trump rioters hoping that the election would be overturned. Our republic will endure. We must realize what happened today. A group of rioters who are fascists decided to follow Mr. Trump’s call of “stand by and stand back,” or his attorney Mr. Giuliani who today at a rally stated the following “trial by combat.” The riot was the bookend to the Charlottesville riots, which left a woman dead.
Those who marched on the capital are fascists. They believe in fascism. They believe that we are in a post-truth society. A post-truth society is the first thing needed to believe in fascism. If truth does not exist, then nothing can exist.
Some facts on this matter: When the nation was fighting the Civil War, no one dared to storm the capital building. The U.S. The capital was breached today for the first time since 1814 when the British attacked it on fire and set it on fire during the war of 1812.
What we saw today was a riot—those who stormed the capital engaged in a riot in an attempt to overturn the election.
Fortunately, the counting will continue, and Congress intends to complete the count today. Biden won the election. He will be inaugurated, and the Democrats control both legislative chambers, having won the two Senate Elections last night, giving them a slim majority in the Senate.
Since Democrats will control both legislative bodies, they should take action against Congress members who are directly responsible for the riots today. Once the procedure is complete, Congress must immediately impeach Donald Trump again.
